Popis
MarketTier Pricing for WooCommerce empowers merchants to set dedicated, independent product prices for different countries or regional markets while keeping native WooCommerce base product prices untouched.
Merchants can set explicit regional overrides or apply commercial pricing rules (such as multipliers and percentage adjustments), with optional multi-currency conversion where configured.
Regional Pricing for WooCommerce
Create independent pricing markets for any combination of countries. Each market can have its own pricing currency, pricing mode, rounding rule, and priority. Products sold in the United States, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, or the GCC region can each have completely different prices, without altering the WooCommerce base product price.
Flexible Markets
Markets can represent a single country or a group of countries:
- A single-country market (e.g. Pakistan priced in PKR)
- A multi-country regional market (e.g. GCC countries priced in reference USD, converted into local AED, SAR, OMR)
- A custom regional market with any grouping of countries you define
Product Pricing
On each WooCommerce product, a Regional Pricing tab lets you enter:
- An explicit regular price for each enabled market
- An optional sale price for each enabled market
- Both simple and variable products are supported
- Each variation can have its own regional price
- If no regional price is entered, the market’s configured pricing mode applies (multiplier, percentage adjustment, or base price fallback)
- Orphan sale prices (sale entered without a regular price) are rejected to prevent broken sale states
Market Currencies & Zero Mismatch Guarantee
MarketTier Pricing separates the Pricing / Reference Currency (the currency you enter prices in for that market) from the Customer Display Currency (what customers see at checkout).
- In Fixed Currency mode, all countries in the market use the Pricing Currency.
- In Country Local Currency mode, member countries see prices converted into their local currency (e.g. AE AED, SA SAR, OM OMR).
- The pricing engine enforces strict monetary consistency: if an exchange rate is missing or fails, the price falls back to the base currency and amount rather than displaying an unconverted number under a foreign currency symbol.
Catalog and Checkout Resolution
MarketTier separates catalog browsing from checkout authority:
- The catalog market controls which prices customers see while browsing.
- The checkout market is determined authoritatively by billing country, shipping country, or a developer-provided filter.
- When no country matches and no default market is configured, the store cleanly falls back to native WooCommerce base pricing.
- A
[markprfo_market_selector]shortcode allows visitors to preview prices in a different market, without overriding checkout authority. - Developers can override the checkout country via the
markprfo_checkout_countryfilter for custom integrations.
WooCommerce Integration
- WooCommerce native prices (
_price,_regular_price,_sale_price) are never overwritten. - Orders created at checkout natively adopt the resolved market currency via
$order->set_currency(). - Historical orders retain their original totals and currencies permanently.
- HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage / custom order tables) compatibility is declared.
- Classic WooCommerce cart and checkout flows are supported and verified.
- Cart and Checkout Blocks are not verified for v1.0.0. Classic checkout is recommended.

External services
This plugin includes an optional integration with an external exchange-rate provider.
- Service Name: ExchangeRate-API / open.er-api.com
- Service Provider: AYR Tech (Pty) Ltd
- Purpose: Used to retrieve real-time foreign exchange conversion rates when the merchant chooses to enable automated currency conversions between reference currencies and customer display currencies.
- When a request occurs: An external request occurs ONLY when:
- The administrator explicitly navigates to WooCommerce > MarketTier Pricing > Currency & Rates and selects „ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com)“ as the exchange rate provider;
- A customer views or purchases a product that requires multi-currency conversion;
- No valid locally cached transient or last-known rate exists for the requested currency pair.
- Default behavior: Manual exchange rates are the default. No external requests are made during plugin activation, on standard page views, or while manual mode remains selected.
- Data transmitted: The plugin transmits ONLY the 3-letter source currency code in the endpoint URL (for example,
https://open.er-api.com/v6/latest/USD). The plugin transmits NO customer names, NO customer email addresses, NO customer billing/shipping addresses, NO cart contents, and NO order data. Technical request metadata (such as the web server’s public IP address and user-agent) is transmitted as part of the standard HTTP communication. - Response usage: The exchange rate response is used strictly to compute regional price conversions and is cached in WordPress transients for 12 hours to minimize outbound network traffic.

Nejčastější dotazy
-
Does MarketTier overwrite WooCommerce product prices?
-
No. Regional prices are stored in dedicated metadata (
_markprfo_market_{key}_regular_priceand_markprfo_market_{key}_sale_price). Native WooCommerce product prices (_price,_regular_price,_sale_price) remain unchanged and are used as the base fallback. -
Can I set exact prices instead of exchange-rate conversions?
-
Yes. Fixed regional overrides allow merchants to enter exact regular and sale prices for each market on each product. These override any multiplier or percentage rule configured at the market level.
-
Can one market contain multiple countries?
-
Yes. Any number of countries can be assigned to a single market. Where countries are assigned to multiple markets, the market with the higher Priority value wins deterministically.
-
Does it support variable products?
-
Yes. Each variation can have its own explicit regional regular and sale price, set directly on the variation row in the WooCommerce Product editor.
-
Can checkout use a custom customer-country source?
-
Yes. The
markprfo_checkout_countryfilter allows developers to supply any country resolution logic — for example, reading a user profile field, a CRM attribute, or a CDN country header. -
Does it support WooCommerce Blocks?
-
Cart and Checkout Blocks are not verified for this release. Classic WooCommerce cart and checkout are fully supported. If you use the Block-based checkout, results may vary and it is not recommended for production until verified.
-
The manual exchange rate provider uses rates you configure directly in the plugin settings. If a rate pair is not found, MarketTier falls back conservatively — prices are not shown at incorrect converted amounts. The API provider, if configured, caches its last known good rate and falls back to that cached value if a live request fails.
-
Is WooCommerce HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage) compatible?
-
HPOS compatibility is declared and the plugin uses standard WooCommerce order CRUD APIs rather than direct post table access.
