With this plugin there is no need to modify code such as footer.php which if done incorrectly can cause your site to break or new theme updates will stomp over your changes requiring you to remove footer credits on each update. This plugin has very minimal options to keep things simple and easier to use. You enter the text or HTML that you would like to find in one text box and the text or HTML that you would like to replace in another text box (or nothing to remove). This Plugin takes a totally different approach, it goes into the footer and takes out the text you specify. It starts by creating a new menu option in the tools menu called Remove Footer Credit, there you will find a box where you can paste the text you want removed. I tested it removing code and it worked, for example Designed with WordPress I guess some people would want to use their own URL and text. The approach of this plugin is supersmart, other plugins needed to be modified by the author for each new template, this one allows the site developer manager to simply change the text that needs to be replaced.
